Mi deporte favorito:

La mayor parte de mi vida siempre he estado involucrada con deportes, pero nunca he encontrado una pasión por ninguno de ellos. La primera vez que sentí pasión por un deporte estaba en la secundaria. En mi clase de P.E. jugamos voleibol durante dos semanas. Me encontré emocionada de ir a P.E. todos los días durante esas dos semanas, algo que nunca antes había sentido. Es entonces cuando me di cuenta de que quería jugar al voleibol como mi deporte. Lamentablemente yo ya estaba jugando al tenis en ese momento y no podía cambiarlo, pero recientemente he visto la oportunidad de jugar al voleibol. Yo contacte un entrenador y he recibido mi primera lección de voleibol. No puedo explicar exactamente por qué me encanta este deporte pero siento un pasión cuando lo hago. Tengo muchas ganas de recibir nuevas lecciones con ella.

Portfolio Questions:

1. What was your favorite part?
-My favorite part of the portfolio was making a timeline on a famous Hispanic person. The person I received was Rosie the Riveter. I was surprised to find out Rosie the Riveter was not a specific person, she was an icon for women to help out with the war, by working in factories and other jobs that were originally for men. So in reality I researched on Josephine Ledesma, one of the six million "Rosies". I was proud to find out that there were Hispanic Rosies slowly making a change in history along with the other Rosies. Making a prezi for my timeline was very entertaining to do. I think it was the best project I have every done, because I leaned so much about my person and I got to be really creative on it.

 2. What was most challenging?
-I believe that all the grammar tests were the most challenging to do because, I would get very mixed up on all the different tenses, so when it was the day of the exam it seem a lot harder than it really was. Also knowing where to put accents where challenging for me, because there are no rules where to put accents.  My goal is to get my tenses figured out and work on when to apply accents. In order to accomplish this I will have to devote time into learning grammar and accents. A good way to practice them is to find websites that have practice sheets and quizzes. If I focus and commit to this, I will hopefully be able to master my grammar and accents.

3. How could you make your portfolio better?
-In order to make my portfolio better, I should organize my papers and buy a new folder. I will also number my papers in the order of the table of contacts, so that way it can be easier for me to put them into my folder. Hole punching my papers will the process of putting them in my folder much easier and it will make sure nothing will fall out.      
       

Hola, me llamo Leila. Tengo 15 años y mi cumpleaños es el 12 de noviembre de 1998. Estoy en mi segundo año en Mira Costa High School. Soy media peruana, media Libanesa. Mis deportes favoritos son el voleibol y el tenis. Las cosas que me gustan hacer son ir a la playa, ir al cine, escuchar música, bailar, andar con amigos, y ir de compras. Hay cinco personas en mi familia, en la que yo soy la más joven. Yo vivo con mi padre, mi madre y mi hermana, que tiene diecisiete años y también asiste Mira Costa High School. Mi hermano tiene treinta y un años de edad y vive en su propia casa. La mayor parte de mi vida se ha ocupado en los deportes. He hecho ballet para un año, patinaje sobre el hielo por cinco años, tenis por un año, gimnasia para la mitad de un año, y actualmente estoy en la clase de danza en mi escuela. Hablo el español y Inglés, pero actualmente estoy tratando de aprender nuevos idiomas. Una de las cosas que quiero hacer cuando sea grande es ver el mundo, porque me encanta viajar. Sólo he estado fuera de los Estados Unidos tres veces, para visitar a mi familia en Perú. Tuve la oportunidad de ver diferentes partes del Perú, como Machu Picchu.
